Top 20 Songs on Acoustic Pie, February 2011

The theme for this month, the second month of the year, is two’s.  Two of the artists are songwriters that I fell in love with at the Sisters Folk Festival which takes place every September in Sisters, Oregon:  Jonathan Byrd (at no. 1) and Ellis (no. 4 & 17).  A surprising number of artists appear twice in this month’s Top 20:  Bruce Cockburn (no. 2 & 15), Jackson Browne (no. 4 & 16) and Ellis (no. 5 & 17).  And there are three songwriting duos as well:  Abbie Gardner and Anthony da Costa (no. 6), Storyhill (no. 7) and Chasing June (no. 14).

Gregory Page, San Diego’s resident troubadour, represents our local songwriters at no. 10.

Thanks for voting and for listening to the Pie!
