Hi Kelley

Some info on Dougie MacLean’s festival - drop me a line if you want more info.
Graeme

PERTHSHIRE AMBER- The Dougie MacLean Festival 2008
24th October – 2nd November 2008

‘Scotland’s Best Small Music Festival” The Scotsman

Dougie MacLean, internationally renowned songwriter and composer of Caledonia and music from ‘The Last of the Mohicans’ has developed an amazing and unique festival which shares with visitors from Scotland and abroad his inspiring music and showcases his musical friends in the very beautiful scenery of his native land,

The 10 day festival features international and Scottish musicians of the highest calibre. As well as Dougie MacLean performing solo, with his band and with a string ensemble, this year’s festival welcomes (to name a few!) the strikingly contemporary Celtic band Solas (USA), wonderful songwriter Benny Gallagher and Scotland’s favourite Deaf Shepherd.

The concerts are staged in a variety of wonderful venues from an iron age crannog on Loch Tay, to historic Blair Castle and Castle Menzies and atmospheric Dunkeld Cathedral to the Festival Theatre in Pitlochry.

Yet the Festival is so much more than the music concerts. There are workshops, walks, talks, open mic sessions and a Young Songwriter’s Showcase as well as Cabaret Amber (free early evening music).

Perthshire Amber is also a celebration of the history and culture of this unique county in the heart of Scotland, at a time of the year when Perthshire is ablaze with rich autumnal colour.

Dear Kelley,

We are honored to be number 7 in your top 20 songs on Acoustic Pie Radio. We hope you explore the rest of our album, Reciprocity. I read your Dec. 2006 entry regarding rhyming. Check out our song "The Snake" for internal and tail rhyming! We loved making that album and are writing more songs for our next album. Would you like to be included on our e-mail list? Music is the universal language and it floats our souls. I bet you feel that way, too! Thanks so much for listening and we will be listening to Acoustic Pie.

Yours in music, Elena and Richard
